Although different from Arkla Embermatic brand barbecue grills this image shows the basic design relationship between the gas flow parts of the barbeque. The manifold pipe attaches to gas and the control valve feeds gas through the orifice into the burner. The electrode part of the ignition assembly will mount on or near the grill burner so the spark generated will be near the gas flow.
The typical barbecue grill design. In between the fire box and the hood is the burners below the heat shields below the cooking grates. Cooking grids, heat shields and briquette supports and gas grill burners are the most common parts replaced. The frequency of replacing these internal grill parts is because of the heating, cooling and the tremendous amount of grease that stays inside the firebox.
Solaire 27" Infrared Gas Grills.
Years ago many high-quality barbecue grill manufacturers made twenty-seven inch full featured gas grills. Today most of these high-end grill models are gone or have sky-rocketed in price. Solaire infrared grills have not followed the trend to make a scaled-down version of a grill missing most of its features and benefits and Solaire has not raised the pricing beyond normal increases that affected all Solaire infrared grill models. The original Solaire 27 was called the "petite" and had 3 infrared burners in one infrared gas grill. The 2 newer models of 27" infrared gas grill both have only 2 burners although the burners are bigger in the grill.
