Red Pyramid Briquette Octagon For Even Radiant Heat Conduction.

For All Makes and Models of Gas BBQ Grill that combine covection heat (heat conducting through air trapped inside the barbecue closed lid) and convection (heat transferred through ceramic, lava) these octagon red pyramid Briquettes were designed for even heating. The flat sides that rise up to make the octagonal pyramid radiate heat in all directions at once. As the burner flames below the briquettes heat the material the briquettes radiate heat upwards to the grilling surface. Hot briquettes also stay hot to vaporize any dripping grease, marinades, sauces, etc.

Pyramid Briquette In Alfresco AGBQ Tray.

Alfresco hard white briquettes sell in cases of 24 briquettes that cost almost $100. for a set of twenty-four pieces. We have these white briquettes for a lot less than Alfresco's MSRP but a lot of clients choose to use these red pyramid briquettes instead.

The Red Pyramid briquettes are larger than the original red pyramid briquettes but will fit into the briquette support stainless steel shield.

As with other gas grill designs the stainless steel center-fed U shaped burners in the Alfresco B model and AGBQ model that uses this briquette support tray heats the briquettes to add radiant heat at the grilling surface. Convectional heat builds up heat by circulating inside the barbecue while the briquettes get hot and radiate heat in all dorection just below the grilling grates to create a much hotter grilling surface.

The LX2 has the famous Alfresco infrared burner and has the center-fed U burners used in the AGBQ and other Alfresco models. The LX2 models have this briquette shield with the cut-out for the briquettes. Many of the LX2 models also have a top stainless bracket that bolts on top of the briquettes to hold them in place when the trays are being removed for cleaning.

White Alfresco briquettes are smaller than the red pyramid briquettes the briquettes can be placed into the cut out on the LX2 model trays as seen in this image. The fit is not as looses as the Alfresco briquettes but the goal of the conduction material is to radiate heat and vaporize drippings so the briquettes do a great job either way.

Lynx Briquette Shield
Like the Alfresco, Lynx Professional Grill models have all blue-flame cast brass burner models and hybrid models with infrared burners. Above the cast brass Lynx burners are the briquette support heat shields with Lynx briquettes. These red pyramid briquettes can also be used in the Lynx briquette shields. The red pyramid briquettes are too bog to fit exactly into the Lynx channels but the goal is to heat up and radiate heat at the grilling surface and the briquettes do their job whether they are flat or slightly inclined.

DCS 24 Model Briquette Shield

DCS 24 model barbecues have been discontinued for many years but the DCS grills were so incredibly well manufactiured that there are still thousands of the DCS 24 inch models in use today. The twenty-four inch DCS is the only DCS model that used briquettes. The DCS24 briquette trays came as a 4 row briquette tray and a 2 row briquette tray.

DCS briquette shields were the fiurst to show the importance of locking the briquettes in place in the shield. Stainless has to be able to be cleaned and locking the briquette in the tray makes cleaning fast and easy so the grill does not rust and corrode to pieces.

These red pyramid briquettes fit the channels in the DCS 24 briquette trays and can be used to replace the conduction briquettes in the 24 inch models.

This is also from the DCS 24 inch models. The image above shows the four-row briquette shield. This is the two-row briquette support shield in the DCS24.

The red pyramid briquettes fit into the grooves on the briquette shield for 24 inch grill models by Dynamic Cooking Systems.

The red pyramid briquettes are flat on the bottom so they sit easily on any barbecue grill grate or briquette support shield. The top of the briquette is an octagon of flat surfaces designed to radiate heat in many directions at one time.

This is the red pyramid briquette that comes in cases of 54 pieces. This briquette is truly universal and can be used with any barbecue grill model that uses conduction for radiant heat and vaporization.

This is as close as we can get to the briquette without losing the form so we do not know what we ar elooking at. We are showing the briquette close-up because a lot of our clients use the red pyramid briquette instead of the exorbitantly expensive white briquettes. However, as we can see in this image the surface of the briquette is not pretty and smooth. This is certainly more absorbant than the hard and smooth white briquettes. These are a fraction of the cost so we usually use them instead of the very expensive briquettes that are less porous. Over time we are cooking and either briquette will be dirty with grease so the differences seem less important after a month of barbecuing.
