Ducane grills made relaible high quality barbecues for decades. Replacement cooking grates are available with traditional designs and with the ingenuity invented by Ducane. Ducane original cooking grates rounded up convex and were wider than traditional grilling grids in order to conduct a wide searing surface space while allowing grease to drip freely away to Ducane vaporizers. Replacement cooking grates are available with porcelain enameled steel, cast iron and stainless steel.

Heat shield replacement bbq grill parts fit over the burner. Heat plates allow grease to run off towards the drip pan without falling into burners and clogging flame ports. Uniflame heat plates also distribute heat as it rises.
When convectional heat surrounds your barbecuing food it begins to drip. Well built heat shields will instantly vaporise this moistire for added flavor trapped inside the fire box. If the bbq is not hot enough for vaporisation the heat plate should at least allow dripping to fall past the burners into a drip pan for easy clean up.
As the heat shields heat up they will radiate heat adding radiant temperatures to the convection heat transferred through air. Well built heat shields are heavier for additional grilling temperatures from this radiant heat.
If your heat plates are coated with chrome or with porcelain enamel clean them gently. As soon as the cleaning process scratched though the protective layer, the steel below it will begin to rust and weaken until replacement heat plates are needed to repair the barbeque grill.
