Servicing infrared gas grills for many years, I have seen one problem with the infrared gas burner over and over again. Moisture. If water gets into an infrared burner while it is not burning and the water gets into the housing it must be drained. Extract it from the grill and leave it upside down for a few hours. If the burner is lit while water is in the housing the ceramic tiles can crack. The water condensates from the intense heat and is forced from the stainless housing so fast a small crack will form n the tiles. While you are cooking, if the tiles shift from internal gas pressure the burner will go out.

Sometimes the flame will just die and sometimes it can make a "whoosh" or "pop" sound but either way it ts telling you to replace your infrared burner.

TEC Cooking Grate

TEC replacement cooking grate for TEC Patio 2, Sterling 2 and Sterling 3 is 14.75 x 12.75 inches. This is the original U grid manufactured by TEC for these model. The Patio 2 and the Sterling 2 uses 2 grids and the Streling 3 uses 3 of these. This is the grid that has the U channel design and small holes in the front for drippings.

Stainless steel U channel cooking grate for the TEC Sterling 28 and Patio I infrared gas grill models. These cooking grates are the original grids that fit the original infrared models. The Sterling 28 and the Patio I had 2 controls but one large infrared burner whereas newer TEC models had 2 or 3 infrared burners.

TEC Pilot Kit

The older TEC infrared gas BBQ grillsused a pilot to ignite the infrared burners. The igniter module wires to the electrode to ignite the pilot which lights the infrared burner. This TEC replacement pilot ignition kit attaches to the manifold to replace the original pilot.

TEC Double Igniter Pilot

TEC double pilot replacement kit for TEC infrared gas grill repair. Back when TEC had the pilot kits there was a kit that fit the Sterling 2 grill models that had two infrared burners and a pilot kit to fit the TEC Sterling 3 with three infrared burners. This Pilot kit is designed with 2 pilot kits already installed with the aluminum gas line and igniter wires for the 3 burner TEC Sterling 3 models.

TEC infrared gas grill electrode

Infrared gas grill electrode for older infrared gas grills and newer infrared gas grills. The two posts allow the igniter to arc between the two points and ignite gas emitting from the infrared gas grill burner.

New TEC gas grills use a rectangular stainless steel burner with has angled shields that magnify heat for infrared temperatures without the original pressurized ceramic tile burners. This electrode spark arcs against the stainless steel material of the burner.

This is a replacement control valve for TEC Patio II, Sterling II and Sterling III control valves. Some of the TEC infrared gas grill models had clamps instead of this bolt design so check your valve before ordering.

TEC Control Valve.

TEC - Thermal Engineering Corporation - BBQ grill repair control valve. The control valve screws right into the manifold. Use a sealant when attaching the control valve to the manifold. The hood style orifice attaches to thecontrol valve; use your existing orifice for either natural gas or liquid propane.

Viking replacement hood style orifice with #72 starter hole and 1/8-27 threading.
Generally, the only reason to change an orifice is because the gas type is changing. Let us know the gas type and which burner the orifice will fit. Although all the orifices are the same each burner requires a different BTU setting.

Replacement rotary spark generator ignition module for TEC barbecue grill repair. Two screws hold the rotary module on the control panel. Electrode wire connects to the rotary module ignition from nside the control panel.

TEC Patio I infrared burner replacement

The original TEC Patio I infrared burner with two venturi tubes. TEC stopped making this replacement burner for the original infrared Patio gas grills. They are available for a limited time until stock is depleted.

The original Patio Two drip pan by TEC was not fabricated of stainless steel. This new replacement TEC drip pan is manufactured by Thermal Engineering Corp using American made 304 stainless steel.
