Viking gas barbecue grills have a combnation of stainless steel U shped burners, straight stainless steel pipe burners and the Viking Tru-Sear infrared gas grill burner. The three types of burner often exist in the same gas BBQ grill model. The U burner and the straight "smoker" burner also have small heat shield drip cover shields that attach to the burners. The specification drawing to the right is from the Viking gas grill repair manual to ensure replacement burners are installed over the orifice at the tip of the control valve.
The company was founded by Fred E Carl Jr in response to the growing consumer demand for high quality, sturdy kitchen appliances. The market was ready for high end, industrial quality grills and ranges that would offer years of hassle free service.
The introduction of Viking bbq grills and other products were a dream come true for most consumers who were looking for superior engineering and functionality in their kitchen appliances. When the indoor company first released the outdoor grill line we were one of the first barbeque stores to get excited and buy Viking outdoor grills. The barbecues were not what we expaected and the quality was not representative of the Viking indoor line. Later iterations made a lot of improvements and the current Viking gas grills have a lot up to date technological features and benefits that have made the grill much more reliable and respectable in todays high-end gas grill marketplace.
