Replace Control Valve Igniter In Emperor, Olde Native, Imperial Barbecue Brands.

The reason controls typically fail and need to be replaced is usually heat.  Often this means the small black gasket we saw in the video is damaged and sometimes the wires are also damaged.   The valves in this video are not damaged which is why the wires and o ring gaskets look fine.

These Control valves clamp-on to the manifold gas pipe but not all barbecue grills valves clamp onto the gas pipe so not all valves need to be replaced as often.   These Emperor, Imperial, Olde Native gas control valves are a design referred to as “flame thrower” because of the ignition sequence we can see towards the end of the video with the flame-thrower next to the burner.
