Replacement Control Valve For All DCS BBQ Grill Models

Dynamic Cooking Systems gas barbecue grill models have all used the same control valves even though DCS has been making high-quality barbecue grills for close to 30 years. The original valves and the replacement valves have a adjustment set-screws inside the valve stem, a split stem to allow the knobs to be tighter or looser and use a hood style orifice threaded at the tip. The valve threads into the gas manifold and can be sealed with either teflon tape or pljumbers putty so gas does not leak. Always pressurize the manifold with the valev turned off and spray the connection with soapy water after replacing the valves. With soapy water on the manifold and valve a leak will show with bubbles around the threads.

DCS control valve. I beleive this valve fits all of the DCS grills. The rotisserie uses a safety valve with a thermocouple so this valve will not work for a rotisserie but the grill valves are al the same BTU and the same size at the manifold so this valve should work with all models of DCS. Our service technicians use this valve for everything DCS and we have not needed any other valve for the barbeque grills

DCS Control Valve

This image shows the DCS control knob 211043 that was standard on a lot of the early DCS grill models. The control valve stem of the DCS valve fits into the back of the knob snug.

Through the years DCS has made changes to the features of their barbecues. As the grills changed the control knobs have changed but the -D- shaped opening for the valve stem has not changed.

Also evident in this image the valve does not come with an orifice. Use your original orifice when replacing the valve. Otherwise let us know and we'll het a new orifice for you.

This image of the DCS control valve stem inserted into the 211007 control knob is also here to show the valve stem is the right size for the DCS knobs. The 211007 control knob for DCS barbecues is the largest diameter control knob of any of the DCS controls.

The DCS replacement valve stem is split down the center which allows us to slightly squeeze or spread the split and make the valve stem tighter or looser as desired.

Although refered to as the BGB model stainless knob this is the DCS satin finish knob. This control knob is not plastic made to look like stainless but is a very heavy metal control knob. As shown here the valve stem does fit the knob but this metal opening is tight. It is wise to squeeze the valve stem so it is slightly smaller and fits easier -- without too much pushing.

porcelain rods broken on straight line is maintenance problem D Shaped Stem

Control valve stems are shaped ike a capital letter D in order to hold the knob and turn without sliding. The replacement valve is round at the base and is cut to be a D about half-way down the stem.

Although this is not true of all control valves the DCS replacement valve has a tiny set screw down inside the valve stem. The set screw can be adjusted to change the round movement of the valve. This allows minute variations in the amount of gas flow permitted through the miniature ball-valve inside the barbecue controls.

When the grill has not been used for a long time and then has gas flow problems this is usually where the problem is. The hood orifice for the grill threads on to the threaded tip of the valve. If tiny bugs or dirt particles get into the orifice this is the area inside the valve where they create their webs that screw up our gas flow.
