Replacement Ignition Electrode With Long Wire.
Although there are thousands of BBQ models sold over the past 30 years there are not thousands of different ignition electrodes. A lot of barbecues that have nothing in common with one another can easily use the same ignition electrode regardless of whether it is like the original electrode. We practically use this electrode as though it were Universal because the length of the wire, length of the steel post and the mounting bracket makes this electrode easily altered to fit into any grill design. As long as the process does not damage the porcelain sleeve the long steel post can be bent or even clipped to fit into any gas grill and position the tip next to the burner to arc right at the port as gas is released.

Replacement Ignition ElectrodeThis replacement BBQ grill electrode is 41 inches from the tip of the wire to the mounting bracket and 43 inches total length. The long steel post makes this electrode very use ful is any barbecue model because the steel post can be bent to change where the spark occurs. This is very important with any ignition because propane and natural gas behave different leaving the ports in the burner. The ability to adjust the electrode to change the gap or re-position the charge makes this an easy and reliable electrode in any grill model. |

Ignitor InstallationMany BBQ igniters are specifically engineered to fit the architecture of that model grill. The most useful replacement grill parts are those that can be manipulated to fit a lot of areas. This electrode has a simple perpendicular steel mounting bracket whick allows a single hole in the firewall for the porcelain housing of the electrode and a single self-tapping screw or a small nut and bolt holds the electrode in place. The heavy-duty electrode wire with this electrode is 41 inches long so it can be used in larger model gas grills without needing to splice or add electrode wires. Also the flat-female attachment is perfect for newer battery-charged igniter modules and can be easily spread to fit tightly to an older piezo or rotary module like we find on older gas grills. |

This particular electrode is so useful for any gas grill repair technician because this ignition can be easily bent and changed to fit any grill. The electrode on the right side and the left side of this page are for a Steelman and the steel posts have very specific bends that fit the right side burner and left side burner on those models.
However this 106730 electrode can easily be ised to replace both of these others with minor work. Instead of stocking a hundred different ignitors a smart technician can use less parts to fit more repairs.
The image below is from a BGA-27 DCS by Dynamic Cooking Systems. Instead of installing the electrode and collector box used in this model grill we installed this electrode to show how any electrode will spark and light gas if it is properly installed and adjusted for maximum soark. While the DCS is designed to use a collector box we bent this steel rod so the electrode will spark against the stainless steel burner inside the DCS.
